Fort Hamilton 30.32'' Wide 2 -Drawer File Cabinet

This was a good quality, sturdy filing cabinet. I liked the area above the drawer that we could use to store paper. The only drawback is that the top drawer doesn’t have enough clearance above it and it rubs on tabs on top of file folders when you open and close the drawer. The mfg said we could adjust the slider position somehow on sides of drawer but haven’t figured it out yet.

The file cabinet itself looks gorgeous. However the drawers are not smooth when closing and the files just barely fit. They could have made them deeper to accommodate putting files with tabs inside

Stylish function! I read reviews and decided to pay for assembly, glad I did. "Handy" guy said it was a bit more involved than usual bcz of the designed anti-tipping safety mechanism where you can only open 1 drawer at a time. It took a little over an hour, and he said to not completely tighten when working with mdf, though nice appearance like veneer/solid. You can store hanging files sideways (see green hanging file in pic), but if you want to hang standard hanging files from front-to-back, you'll need an extra "file bar" for each drawer (see yellow hanging files in pic). It only comes with 2 total file bars, and you would need 4 total file bars. I called Sauder company on user manual with model number and the phone person found my Wayfair order and will be mailing me 2 more file bars for free in 4-6 business days - easy! Wayfair had fast shipping, no damage. The box was dinged up, but the outside of the box has reinforced pieces along the seams to protect it, and also inside.

It was the worst furniture that I ever bought, very difficult to assemble, took six hours to get all the pieces done! And nothing works fine, the files doesn’t fits in side of the drawers and doesn’t close! Don’t buy this sheet, I will take to the dumpster tomorrow!

Beautiful file cabinet. It has modern, clean lines, but the wood tone warms it up so it’s not overly contemporary. I love when furniture blends both masculine and feminine features and this piece does just that. The metal frame gives off just a touch of glam, while the mango wood adds a bit of a rustic touch to keep the overall feel very casual. Looks more like a big end table or dresser, giving my home office a less utilitarian feel. The drawers slide very easily and it’s extremely sturdy. I do agree with other reviews that it’s a little tight to get files in and out. Not a huge deal for me since I don’t use daily. Also agree with other reviews that building it took a long time especially when trying to fit the frame around the boxes which it tells you to do first. My 15 year old son built it while I assisted. He’s very detailed which I am grateful for because it definitely takes some patience. Lastly, just be careful when attaching the frame to look for a metal piece with a hole in it. Place that piece at the back or rotate it so you don’t see it. Unfortunately I didn’t catch it until my son had already put most of together and there was no way I was going to make him undo it just so that hole didn’t show in front. See pic for reference.

Perfect piece to blend in with our rich red toned floor, brown walls and oil painting. It’s solid, heavy and sturdy. Takes a bit to put together but worth it in the end!
