This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. Excellent bed frame for the price. I put it together myself in a couple of hours. Nice and sturdy (we bought the twin size). I included a picture of one of the pieces used to install the lathes that support the mattress. There's a right way and wrong way to install them -- make sure you have the "T" shaped side pointing inward. I couldn't figure out why some were sliding in easily and others weren't.
