Arto Storage Bookcase

Scratched up from packaging and it looks like I was sent an item that was already returned based on the shape the box was in and the way it was taped up. Every piece I looked at, both sides. In total, it was 10 parts scratched. The only solid wood is the feet. Maybe the handles, I didn't open them. I expected pressed wood, but I thought it would at least be a cheap thin wood veneer. It's PAPER. It's paper with a woodgrain print. Which would explain why it's all scratched up. It looks much better in pics than it does in person. UPDATE: They sent a replacement, and it's going back too. Same problem.

Boards arrived damaged with finish peeling off and covered in a thick layer of dust. Customer service is giving me the run around about sending it back saying that I need to contact the manufacturer. Huge waste of time and money.

Took me, a relatively intelligent lady, probably 4 hours to build both at a casual pace, nothing too difficult. Needed a hand standing them up right, and husband attached the doors. Boxes weighed a ton so be careful. My only gripe is the doors on the bottom storage areas do not fill in the open space around them. If you had a light inside the closed area, you'd completely see it through big gaps around the doors. Its only noticeable if you're up close to them and thinking about it. Apart from that, they look great and do what i need them to do. Please don't judge my lack of decorating, it'll be nicer later!

overall pleased with the value proposition of this thing. it looks really nice for what it is, which is why youre buying it. to meaningfully upgrade youd need to buy solid wood which will run well into the XXXXs. as for the downsides, my primary gripe with the construction quality is the back. its fairly thin particle board and touching it reminds you that you did not in fact spend four figures. i feel really bad for whomever has to put it together, because there are over 80 nails that secure the back to the frame and you will make a couple of mistakes thatll show. took my friend about 5 hours in total. lastly, have a vacuum handy. im still finding styrofoam bits e v e r y w h e r e. absolutely do not regret my purchase and planning to hang onto it for 10ish years

Here's the scoop: top of shipping box was crushed. When I opened it, the tops of the tall shelf pieces were chipped/damaged on the top corners. Box was missing hardware pack, manual, and feet. The manufacturer was quick in getting back to me re. the missing pieces, which is why I'm giving this two stars instead of one. I still haven't received the missing components or heard back on when I should expect them, so we will see what happens.
