The couch was shipped in 4 pieces. The entire back is the same height as the arms. Its very firm so it is will last quite a while, but can stiffen the body if you are not used to firm. I do really like this couch, it works for just me and my dog. My only complaints about it are that the back cushions do not have Velcro or anything that holds them up so they have a tendency to fall down, and the armrests are just pillows and aren’t super sturdy. Honestly I love this couch! It was a little bit of a pain to get the back pieces in but I also did it by myself. I love the latches on the bottom to connect the main part of the couch so you can have certain pieces if you want them. It is a little stiffer to sit but also I dont mind it surprisingly! It’s short, and I like to store things under furniture, so I swapped the feet out. I got eight 8” legs and two 10” legs. I recommend the two longer ones actually be “adjustable” bc I think 11” was closer to what was needed (they are more hidden so it’s ok if they are ugly). Get the screw-in kind. Assembled the whole thing in like 20-30 Just me. Pretty easy. Glad I got it. Great for a small apartment. More comfortable than I was expecting. Being able to swap the chaise side is great.
