Jana Bek: Master Bath Makeover Part 2
Follow along with one designer as she demos her bathroom and gets colour palette inspiration.
If you're just tuning in, welcome! My husband and I are renovating our master bath in partnership with Wayfair and Kohler , and I'm be writing about the process along the way. Catch up on our initial plans and design inspiration here. We are now in the heart of demoing the bathroom and it's a scary sight, take a look:

We first took out the vanity, then, tore down the wall dividing the bath and adjacent area. This was very exciting—already we can tell the space is going to be so much more airy and open. The light brought in from our unused sitting room dramatically added to the brightness of the space. Amidst the chaos of the demolition, seeing the first hints of how sunny our master bath will be was definitely sight for sore eyes!
Next we'll take out the closet, remainder of the floor, and shower, please wish us luck!
I've begun unpacking the Kohler Artifacts faucets and it is so beautiful. The pieces have a great weight and lustre; the style matches the classic sophistication I want to achieve in our design.
In my first post, I mentioned that I was considering layering colour into the space as the foundation palette is mostly grey and white. I've continued to peruse Pinterest, Kohler Ideas , and Instagram and I think pops of soft blush pink may be the perfect fit. These images from the "Petal Pink" mood board I found at ideas.kohler.com are particularly inspiring:

When you're planning a space, as much as you can, it's nice to see the materials you're contemplating side by side—what you're dreaming up may not work together as well as you imagined. If you lay everything out, and something seems off, then you can tweak the colours, finishes, and more before you begin to implement your design and much heartache, time, and money will be saved.
Stay tuned for more renovation progress and thank you for following along! For inspiring design in the interim, I definitely recommend checking out the eye-candy at ideas.kohler.com!
