This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. Beautiful, well made bed. My kid loves the LED light, and uses it as a night light. The instructions were easy to understand, and everything was labeled clearly. My only complaint was that on one step, it didn’t specify which bolts to use, and after scrambling, we realized they were already bolted, so we needed to loosen them and re-install them.
