Closing a pool for winter should not mean months of cleanup or a green pool in spring. The Blue Wave Arctic Armour Oval Above Ground Pool Winter Cover is a heavy-duty solid pool tarp built to handle everything the off-season brings, so you can close up in fall and return to a cleaner pool when spring arrives. It’s made with a 14x14 laminated scrim polyethylene, a dense, tear-resistant material that forms a solid barrier against leaves, sticks, rain, and snow. The reinforced, heat-sealed seams form a watertight bond across the cover to block moisture and debris and help prevent rips. Because the panel is solid rather than mesh, it keeps water from passing through and limits evaporation over winter. The black underside blocks sunlight throughout the off-season to help limit dirt buildup in the pool, which reduces the maintenance work needed at opening time. Securing the cover is straightforward. The rust-resistant metal grommets spaced every 2 feet work with the included vinyl-coated steel cable and ratcheting winch to lock the cover down evenly, withstanding strong winds, rain, and snow. This winter cover is sized for oval above-ground pools with an extra 4-ft overlap for a snug, wind-resistant fit; a helper speeds installation on this size pool. This is a winter debris cover, not a safety cover. Do not walk on it or allow it to support weight. After a heavy snow, clear the buildup from the pool edge with a soft-bristle broom. To keep the pool cleaner, use a cover pump to remove standing water that collects on top of the cover after storms. Backed by Blue Wave’s 15-year limited warranty (full coverage in year 1 and prorated coverage in years 2 through 15), U.S.-based customer support and over 35 years of pool industry experience. This winter pool cover is sized for oval pools only. Complete with securing hardware, including the winch and cable, so everything needed for installation is in the box.

Closing an in-ground pool for winter should not mean a green pool or hours of cleanup in spring. The Blue Wave Arctic Armour Rectangular In-Ground Pool Cover is a heavy-duty solid tarp for pool cover built to handle what the off-season brings, so the pool opens cleaner when it is time to reopen. It’s made with a 14x14 laminated scrim woven polyethylene, a dense material that forms a solid barrier against leaves, twigs, rain, and snow. The reinforced, heat-sealed seams run across the cover to lock out water, resist splitting, and help block moisture and debris. Because the panel is solid rather than mesh, water collects on top instead of draining through, and the black underside limits sunlight through the off-season to help slow dirt buildup and reduce cleanup at opening. This winter cover for inground pool is sized for rectangular in-ground pools, with an extra 5-ft overlap that extends beyond the pool edge on every side. The metal grommets every 2 ft accept the included vinyl-coated steel cable and ratcheting winch to cinch the cover down, and sewn water tube loops every 4 ft around the perimeter allow you to anchor the cover with water tubes (sold separately) for a snug, steady fit without deck anchors. A second person makes installation faster on a pool this size. This is a winter debris cover, not a safety cover. Do not walk on it or allow it to support weight. A layer of water on top is normal and helps hold the cover in place against wind; a cover pump (sold separately) can clear excess after heavy snow. Backed by Blue Wave’s 15-year limited warranty (full coverage in year 1 and prorated coverage in years 2 through 15), plus U.S.-based customer support and over 35 years of pool industry experience.

Has held up nicely for the last 2 years through these New England winters, although we do use an alternative for the weights on the perimeter.. Matthew. Ellington, CT. Tue Jan 03 2017

Every fall, leaves, pine needles, and twigs collect on your winter cover and turn into a soggy mess before you can open your pool in spring. The Blue Wave Arctic Armour 16 x 36 ft Leaf Net Cover helps stop that before it starts. Made from treated polyethylene mesh with 0.15-in openings, this pool leaf net cover traps leaves, pine needles, twigs, and fine debris while letting rain and snowmelt drain through freely, so water does not pool on the surface and the cover stays flat and clean. Sized for 16 x 36 ft rectangular inground pools, the net provides an extra 4-foot overlap on all sides for a firm anchor margin. Its reinforced corner grommets and water tube loops spaced every 4 feet secure the perimeter, and the net can be used with or without an existing winter cover (water tubes sold separately). Two people can unfold and position the net in minutes with no tools required. Deploy in early fall, let it collect debris through the season, then remove before the first heavy snowfall. Brush off leaves, let the net dry, fold, and store in a cool, dry place. Backed by Blue Wave's 4-year limited warranty (year 1 is fully covered; years 2, 3, and 4 are prorated at 30%, 20%, and 10%) and U.S.-based customer support, and over 35 years of pool industry experience.

Every fall, leaves pile up on winter covers and the damage add up quietly. Wet, debris stains cover surfaces, create dirt buildup, and add hours to spring pool opening. The Arctic Armour 12-ft Round Leaf Net is an above ground pool leaf net cover built for fall debris season, gives homeowners a simple layer of defence: lay it over an existing winter cover before the trees start dropping, or install it directly over the pool for lightweight seasonal coverage on its own. Built from treated polyethylene mesh, this mesh pool leaf net cover lets rainwater drain straight through while leaves, twigs, and debris collect on the surface. That drainage-first design keeps soggy leaf debris off the surface underneath and out of the spring opening routine. The mesh is weather-resistant and treated for multiple fall seasons of exposure. Setup only takes two people with no other tools required. Grab opposite corners and walk the netting open; this leaf net is sized for 12-ft round above-ground pools with an extra 3-ft overlap around the pool edge. Thread the included vinyl-coated cable through reinforced grommets spaced every 2 ft, then tighten with the included metal winch. Every component arrives in the box. Place the net in early fall and remove it before the first heavy snowfall. When loaded with leaves, lift and slide it off in one motion. This is a leaf and debris catcher; it is not a certified pool barrier or drowning-prevention device. Backed by Blue Wave's 4-year limited warranty, U.S.-based customer support, and over 35 years of pool industry experience. Sized for 12-ft round above-ground pools only; not compatible with oval pools. To store, brush off debris, dry completely, and keep in a cool, dry place.

At this stage, my impression is generally positive. The cover looks substantial and appears to be what we expected. Aside from the small snag and the not-immediately-obvious instructions, I have not encountered any significant concerns.
