I ordered two of these and was not surprised to see I needed to assemble it after reading the reviews. However, both shades had dimples in the rim that I had to use my fingernails to strongly bend the rim back so that it was smooth around the edges. On one one shades the glue was seeping out of the bottom but I just cut it off.

I was very surprised when I opened the box to find the materials to MAKE the lamp shade. I went back to read the instructions and was still a bit confused. I don't feel it was explained clearly enough to determine that it was one that you had to put together.

READ READ READ the descriptions! I did not and hate that this was a rolled up shade that I had to put together! I guess this the “new” thing I won’t order a shade of this kind because it looks flimsy!
