Its gasketed Air-Tight housing restricts airflow from conditioned spaces into unconditioned attic space, preventing unnecessary HVAC costs and improving the overall home energy efficiency. The housing and frame are constructed from die-formed corrosion resistant galvanized steel. The lamp housing compartment can be adjusted to fit ceiling thicknesses from in. to 1 in. The socket position can be adjusted to accommodate ceiling pitches from 2/12 to 7/12 pitch. It features a universal J-box with snap-out sides. Wiring is made easy with the included wiring quick-connects that allow simple installation of 12-20 AWG wire without using separate wire nuts - simply strip supply wires and push in. The housing has pre-installed nails on the adjustable hanger bars which are easily installed in regular lumber, engineered lumber, and laminated beams. Hanger bars include t-bar mounting clamps for use in suspended t-grid ceilings. The bar hangers have a maximum span of 24 in. and are scored in two locations for fast, clean breaking, allowing housing installation in very narrow joist spacings. It is UL and CUL listed for damp locations and is thermally protected against improper use of lamps.

The SkyOutlet included in the box, allow for downlights to easily be replaced later in life and come with a 5 year warranty. The 3000K warm white integrated LED fixture is rated 12 watts, suitable for for damp location use and is dimmable when used with a dimmer switch. The LED will last 50,000 hours or 23 years when used every day for 6 hours/ day.

Nice light made with quality material. The biggest problem was that the light was bought to replace a can light. The description said it was a replacement for recessed light but it’s rely made to replace a regular ceiling light. Socket mounts to trim for optimum performance and consistent lamp position and can use a variety incandescent, CFL and LED lamps. Housing is suitable for residential or light commercial applications. For installation in insulated ceilings and non-insulated ceilings with airtight code compliant construction. The housing can be used with a variety of trims and finishes to create different lighting effects or to match any decor. The trims use friction springs to attach to the housing to provide a flush fit against the ceiling.
