A bit tricky to follow instructions because they're not really clear but take your time and it's ok. The material does not seem really strong but I'm hopping it holds up. Not recommended for big kids that might be a bit rough on it. The "plastic frame" is the blowup tube that is around the top. Very satisfied, highly recommend this pool for a small to medium size backyard. Great for family and friends with a few floats. The pump is very good, an upgrade from the smaller pools. Hoses are short but I plan on getting longer ones online or locally. This is my 2nd Intex pool, we decided after 5 yrs to upgrade the other one we had. The pool size was different from previous pool but fit in almost perfect, a few slight adjustments for the rocks around the pool. We live in South Florida so we leave the pool up all year, drain the water in December and fill back up in May.
