Nice sturdy scratcher that seems to last long time. But my cats, both of them prefer to scratch horizontal surfaces instead of vertical like poles, still prefer to scratch carpet underneath this thing (???). Not sure why. The do sit on it, go figure, and like to use it at a hidings place. Maybe they will figure it out later. Nothing to do with the actual product. Wooden parts are real wood, it is very well build.
